Change to Your Participation
To enroll in the Melrose Community Power (MCP) program, use the Enroll/Change Product form and choose the product that best suits your budget and climate goals.
To change your electricity supply product, use the Enroll/Change Product form. There is no penalty, ever, to change from one product to another within the program.
To leave the MCP program, complete the Opt-Out form. This will return your electricity supply to National Grid Basic Service on the next available meter read.

Melrose Community Power has been renewed through December 2027, with our supplier transitioning to Direct Energy services starting in November 2024.
If you have questions about your participation for the term starting November 2024 going until December 2027, contact Direct Energy at (866) 968-8065, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. EST Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST Saturday, or by email at aggregationsupport@NRG.com.

Tax Deductions: The cost of the additional renewable energy provided through Melrose Community Power is eligible for a federal tax deduction. To receive a receipt to file with your taxes, you must fill out the form here. Hard copy letters are not being mailed.
If you are on the Melrose Community Power Standard or Plus option, the payments you made for additional renewable energy are federally tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Your 2024 tax receipt from nonprofit renewable energy supplier, Green Energy Consumers Alliance, will be available by January 31st 2025 at GreenEnergyConsumers.org/TaxReceipts.
